Blue Cheese Bite size Nibbles
These yummy nibbles make a great finger food item to serve for a party or as a snack.
If blue cheese isn't really your thing, you can substitute it for cheddar cheese or Parmesan.
Feel free to cut the biscuits into smaller pieces to make different size nibbles plus you can also turn these into great tasting garlicky nibbles. Just sprinkle some garlic salt on before baking and serve with your favorite italian recipe.
Ingredients:
- 1 package (10 count) Biscuits in a can.
- 4 ounces fresh blue cheese, crumbled
- 1/2 cup margarine
Preparation:
- Melt margarine in a saucepan
- add cheese and stir until cheese is melted in
- Cut each biscuit in fourths and roll in cheese mixture, turning to coat completely
- Place on cookie sheet
- Bake at 325 degrees until it looks nicely browned, approximately 18 mins
Bacon Appetizer
Everything goes good with bacon! These appetizers are easy to eat and easy to make, great for any party or family gathering. The flavor combo of sweet and salty gets your mouth watering. As a substitute to reduce fat, try it with turkey bacon - it's great!
Ingredients:
- 1 - 8 ounce package pitted dates
- 4 - ounces almonds
- 1 - pound thick sliced bacon
Preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- Soak 20-30 toothpicks in water for about 10 mins.
- Slit the dates and put one almond inside each date. Wrap each date with a piece of bacon about 1/2 to 1/3 of a strip for each date, using toothpicks to hold them together.
- line them up on a cookie sheet and bake for about 10 - 15 minutes, or until bacon is crisp and brown.
Mini Quiche
This is so crazy easy - it's an instant win and just the right size for parties or even crazier, try it for breakfast!
Ingredients:
- 2 – cups shredded American cheese
- 6 – slices bacon, crumbled (try sausage, ham, or any other meats of your choice)
- 3 – eggs
- 1 1/2 – tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 3/4 – cup buttermilk baking mix
- 1 – onion, chopped
Preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 350˚ F
- Grease cups -- 2 mini muffin pans
- Cook Bacon (try sausage or ham) and crumble after it has cooled
- In a medium bowl, beat the eggs
- Stir in the baking mix, parsley, shredded cheese, bacon and onion
- Spoon in to each greased muffin cup
- Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until the tops are lightly browned
- Allow to cool in the pan before removing from muffin pans
Garden Tomato Appetizer
Great summer treat that sure to please the crowd. Colorful, tasty, elegant, a sure win! You can also try these in cucumbers, zucchini, celery, or whatever your imagination comes up with.
Ingredients:
- 1 – Container (about 20-25) cherry tomatoes
- ½ – cup mayonnaise
- ¼ – cup green onions, chopped
- 2 – tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1 – pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
Preparation:
- Cook bacon until crisp and cool
- Crumble bacon after it has cooled
- In a medium sized bowl stir mayonnaise, bacon, green onions and parsley
- Set aside and chill for about 30 minutes
- Cut a top from each tomato - a small slice
- Using a melon baller or small spoon, carefully scoop out the inside of each tomato
- Fill each tomato with the bacon mixture and arrange neatly on a platter or serving dish
- cover and refrigerate for 1 hour or until you're ready to serve
